The project on the site of the Eberbach fire station involved the construction of a new vehicle depot and the conversion and extension of the existing building. The original building now houses social and administration rooms, changing rooms, recreation and training rooms. The new building added a drill tower, 14 parking spaces, a wash bay, and storage and workshop areas to the existing facility. The particular challenge of the project was to coordinate the various phases of construction, as the fire service had to remain fully operational.

The slabs and cantilevers of the vehicle hall are of solid reinforced concrete construction, as are the foundations and special highly stressed load-bearing elements. The roof structure of the vehicle hall consists of lightweight timber trusses with trapezoidal sheeting and the walls of the other rooms made of brickwork or cellular concrete. The existing building is connected to the new one and has been extended on the upper floor by a slightly raised and cantilevered head building.
