The new “Hotel on Alexanderplatz” building in Berlin consists of three structural parts; the podium, the center section and high-rise. Beneath the building are two intersecting subway tunnels. The location of these tunnels influences the structure above considerably. From the outside a column structure over two stories is visible. When entering the building one steps into a spacious, multistory entrance hall. The corridors on the hotel floors are characterized by concrete walls with large sized openings.
