An accessible 25-metres-high net structure has been put in place by the installation artist Tomás Saraceno in the “Ständehaus (K21)” in Düsseldorf, Germany. The structure is made of steel nets which are stretched over three storeys under the glass dome. The so-called spheres (PVC-balls filled with air) are placed within the 2,500 m² broad net structure with diameters up to 8.50 metres.

The structure has been planned in cooperation with Bollinger+Grohmann and is by far the largest and most complicated technical work of the Argentine artist. The functions of B+G were, besides the feasibility studies in an early stage, especially the investigation and the proof of the load transfers from the guy wires into the existing building as well as the detailed design of the steel structures, the pylons and their load transfer.
