Facts | Flats: 76 |
A new urban area for up to 5,000 people named "Ludwigshöhviertel" is under construction on the former site of the Cambrai-Fritsch barracks and Jefferson estate, which were previously used for military purposes. The project is being developed by 1100 Architekten Riehm+Piscuskas, who won the competition to design the area. They will build five apartment blocks on Cluster 3, containing 76 new flats of varying sizes. These blocks will have up to five storeys above ground and a simple partial basement.
The point blocks are constructed using solid timber for horizontal and vertical components, while conventional solid construction is used for the basement and foundation.
