Following the refurbishment and extension of the Marie Paradis sports complex in Neuville-sur-Saône, we are once again embarking on a sporting adventure alongside the teams at Bureau Face B as structural engineers. This new project, located in Roubaix in northern France, will deliver a sports hall and youth resource centre for the Quartier des Trois Ponts, using bio and geo-sourced materials across a surface area of over 1,900 m².

The building’s structural identity is strongly expressed through its use of glued laminated timber, with long-span truss beams in the main hall supported by metal diagonals to create generous, open volumes. Rammed earth walls enhance thermal mass and material authenticity, while the façade is composed of architectural concrete, tinted in the mass for lasting uniformity and a refined visual presence. These elements shape a resilient and welcoming public facility, rooted in material coherence and low-impact design.
