This project involves the long-term, definitive protection of the Bavay archaeological site, with 6,400 m² of roofing covering all the cryptoporticus and walls.

The architecture of the cover responds sharply to the "genius of the place" without giving in to a form of pastiche. The roof develops a contemporary, dynamic image-based precisely on the geometric configuration of the buildings that made up the Ancient Forum. Its architecture is based on the repetition of filigree structural elements (posts, beams, edges). The roof must avoid any spectacular gestures that would create a dissonance with the peaceful atmosphere of the remains. Finally, it provides a shady atmosphere in keeping with the original atmosphere of the Cryptoporticus.
