The Technical University Darmstadt is now bringing its globally recognized expertise in IT security together under the organizational name "CYSEC". As part of this expansion, a new institute and research building is being built including laboratories with state-of-the-art equipment.
Bollinger+Grohmann is responsible for the implementation ofthe German safety and health coordination both in the design and in the execution phase. The emphasis of the work lies in the coordination of the numerous disciplines, in particular the complex air conditioning, building and media technology as well as the equipment of the laboratories. Another degree of difficulty is the ongoing learning activity in the adjacent buildings. In addition to the usual road users, particularly the students and visitors of the neighboring buildings should be protected. For this purpose, pedestrian paths and access routes must be laid accordingly. In order to maintain the fire protection of the adjacent mathematical building even after demolition of the existing building on the construction site, a separate escape stair tower must be built.
