The archbishopric Paderborn erected an extension building for the Catholic university. The architects' design in the open courtyard, in the immediate vicinity of the existing building, presents a one-storey new building with partial basement south of the main wing. The building is connected to the existing building by a connecting bridge.

The new building is a timber construction on the partial basement in reinforced concrete and on strip foundations. The clear space width of approx. 16 m is stretched out of timber beams with a span of approx. 18 m free-spanning on the outer wooden supports in the transverse direction of the building. The roof structure, consisting of OSB3 panels, is designed as a roof panel and is mounted on secondary beams made of wood.
