The new footbridge at MUDAM is a minimal yet exceptional work of art. It resonates with the history of the site, the natural elements and the museum. To this end, it moves away from traditional crossing structures (beams, arches, cables) to propose a new paradigm. The footbridge creates a new dialogue between the sky, the air, the ground and the trees. It provides an unprecedented support for artistic activities linked to the MUDAM's activities. Its structure amplifies the woodland it crosses. The footbridge rests on a swarm of extremely slender posts, a distant allegory of the trunks of a forest.

Far from being a gratuitous gesture, this approach means that each post takes minimal load and can be found 'by hand', without heavy machinery. Each column will be installed based on a scan of the subsoil to avoid the smallest roots and existing technical networks. The swarm of posts means the deck is extremely slender, making it easier to integrate the structure into the canopy visually. The footbridge is made of polished stainless steel, a raw and durable material that plays with light and perspective. Depending on the point of view, the time of day or the season, the swarm of poles fades into or appears against the forest background.
