The Staufenmauer is the only remaining part of the old fortification that used to surround the historic city center of Frankfurt. It was first constructed around 1180, but it was restored after the fire disasters in 1711 and 1719 and also after the destruction caused by World War II.

During the refurbishment, a thorough structural and damage survey was conducted on the building. Significant damage was identified and recorded, and the structural integrity of various metal components was evaluated. Based on the findings of the investigation and assessment, recommendations were made for repairing damaged masonry areas and handling the steel elements.

As part of the specialist construction management, the safety and renovation work was closely monitored.
