Tetraeder

Being part of the landmark project IBA Emscher Park, the outlook "Haldenereignis Emscherblick" with a view on the surrounding urban landscape of the mine was planned to provide an overview of the area and as such to make the premises perceptible.

The simple geometrical pattern differentiates step by step, being only experienced as a multiple superimposed space frame at the bottom, with the function to provide the fixtures for the stairs, pedestals and orientation platforms. The stairs and platforms are suspended on three axis by steel cables and are constructed as cantilevered structures which diversely swing when walked on.
