In 2023, VERD° was realised in Frankfurt as a vertical greening system in collaboration with OMC°C, Dietz Office, Just Architekten and Bollinger+Grohmann. The modular prototype provides shade, traps particulate matter and stores CO2. Since then, the system has been further developed and was presented, amongst other things, as an adapted modular timber structure during the four-week London Design Festival in cooperation with the American Hardwood Export Council (AHEC).
The structure is made of glued American red oak and was constructed using slender glulam beams. The installation consists of 80% renewable raw materials: in addition to the building material timber and the compostable plants, textile planters and nets made from flax yarn are used. The structure was completely dismantled after the festival ended and was re-erected in front of the Bundeskunsthalle in Bonn in 2025.
