Article: Façade Planning of the Elbtower
Our colleagues Alexander Freund, Osama Naji, Daniel Pfanner, Ljuba Tascheva wrote an insightful article titled ‘Digitales Planen und Bauen im Kontext der Gebäudehülle’ (Digital Planning of a Building Envelope) in the Sonderheft Glasbau & Fassade (Volume 94 Issue S2, Octobre 2025) about the façade planning of the Elbtower in Hamburg that we were responsible for.
The article examines the planning process from a façade design perspective, focusing on technical solutions that balance architectural requirements and geometric complexity. Digital tools such as parametric optimisation and BIM methodology were used to efficiently transition the façade from design to serial production.
