Article in issue of Bauwelt ‘Let's talk about AI’
The current issue of Bauwelt (18/2025) is titled ‘Reden wir über KI’ (Let’s talk about AI). Among others, our colleagues Alexander Hofbeck (Design Technology Lead BIM), Ljuba Tascheva (Design Technology Lead, Parametrik), and Ragunath Vasudevan (Design & Computation Lead) from schneider+schumacher, discuss the challenges and opportunities of applying artificial intelligence in architecture and structural engineering.
The interview is titled: ‘Künstliche Intelligenz hat kein Verständnis von Lastfluss und Erdanziehungskraft’ (Artificial Intelligence Has No Understanding of Load Paths or Gravity). The conversation examines how AI is already being integrated into design workflows and where it still faces fundamental limitations, particularly in understanding physical constraints, spatial logic, and material behavior.
