We cannot see it, yet it exists. Dark matter is a mysterious composition of particles and the focal point of the exhibition DARK MATTERS, which opens on Saturday, 5 August 2023, at the Science Gallery Melbourne. The exhibition consists of various artworks that aim to explore the idea of life in the universe to better understand the forces at play in human life.
The artworks are either suspended from the existing ceiling system of the gallery, fixed to existing walls and floor systems or free standing in the space. We designed and checked all the structurally relevant elements, fixings, and subframes to ensure they followed the required standards and codes.
DARK MATTERS is a collaborative exhibition of the Science Gallery Melbourne, Arts at CERN and the ARC Centre of Excellence for Dark Matter Particle Physics.
The exhibition is on display until 2 December 2023.
