Inauguration of Bog Crane
Bog Crane (Sookurg), the second high-voltage pylon by PART, was inaugurated last week in Tartu, Estonia. The new mast is based on the same principles and visual identity as its predecessor Bog Fox.
The 44 m high project consists of a primary member and three additional support members made of COR-TEN. All four members are supported by four pinned connections attached to four isolated foundations with high-strength anchor bolts. With the knowledge acquired from developing the first pylon, we optimised the second one further, cutting the required material in half!
We supported the architects with structural engineering from concept design to the construction document phase.
