‘Langer Franz’

Great news for Frankfurt: The town hall tower, famously known as ‘Langer Franz’ after Mayor Franz Adickes (1890-1912), will be restored to its former glory. The spire, destroyed during the Second World War, had been replaced with an emergency roof. However, it will now be reconstructed to its original appearance.

On Thursday, April 11, planning permission was granted for the reconstruction of the upper spire floor and roof.

We are proud to have developed the supporting structure of the roof and upper spire floor and contributed our expertise in fire safety by creating a new fire protection concept.

The ‘Brückenbauverein Frankfurt’ initiated the crowdfunding project, which was possible by the generous donations of over 1,200 Frankfurt citizens.

The construction work is expected to commence this autumn.
