Opening

Last week, the new school in Hanau’s Pioneerpark officially opened, marking the city’s first newly built public school in over 50 years. Situated on the site of a former U.S. military base, in the heart of the new Pioneer Park residential district, the school can accommodate up to 300 primary school students. B+G was responsible for the structural engineering of this forward-looking project, designed by Behnisch Architekten.

Hanau’s Mayor, Dr. Maximilian Bieri, called the opening a historic moment for the city, highlighting the school's role in providing urgently needed school places and setting a strong example for integrated education, sustainable urban planning, and social infrastructure. The building meets the highest ecological standards, featuring a climate-neutral energy supply, solar shading, extensive green roofs, and a photovoltaic system, making it a model of sustainable, modern educational architecture.
