Barn Again was designed by Tom Svilans x THISS Studio for the first edition of the Copenhagen Architecture Biennial. The project was the winner of the Biennial’s Slow Pavilions open call.

The pavilion was designed and built specifically for the exhibition using recycled and reusable materials. It addresses the Biennial’s theme Slow Down by exploring how deceleration can be experienced through space, material, and sound.

The materials comprise reused timber elements and recyclable components, assembled with reversible connections that allow for full disassembly.

The structure reinterprets a barn typology using lightweight framing principles adapted to available reclaimed materials. Engineering efforts focused on stability, ease of assembly, and compatibility with circular construction methods.
