The two bridges Hilpertstraße and Stirnweg over the DB line 3601 in Darmstadt have to be renewed. To this end, a new replacement structure for the Hilpertstraße road overpass will first be erected. It will have to be dismantled after completion of the bridge. The traffic will then be routed from the Stirnweg over the new bridge in order to demolish the Stirnweg bridge and rebuild it.
Numerous civil engineering works and road relocations are required as part of this measure. The project is highly sensitive from a safety point of view, as the work will be carried out during normal operation and any danger to the railway or the track must be avoided. Road traffic, including pedestrians, must also be permanently adapted in order to avoid endangering road users.
