The 120m pedestrian bridge spans the River Lys, as well as a number of adjacent (service) roads. A massive wooden substructure was resolutely chosen, which is optimally protected by the bridge deck in high-strength concrete. The curvature in the alignment is taken by the approach slopes, allowing the bridge to be built straight. The piers are provided in concrete for robustness.
