Won: Neue Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf
We congratulate Snøhetta on winning the international competition for the new home of the Neue Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf. Located on a triangular block bordered by three major streets, the project will house approximately 38,000 square metres of cultural and educational facilities, including the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, the City of Düsseldorf's Music Library, and the Clara Schumann Music School. We had the privilege to support this outstanding architectural vision through our structural and façade engineering.
The design features three interconnected building segments that exhibit a clear structural logic, enabling efficient load distribution and forming a network of accessible public spaces. This layout improves visual and physical links within the city while providing a cohesive architectural and technical framework for complex performance, rehearsal, and support areas.
