The Iona Foundation Pavilion in Amsterdam’s historic center showcases innovative structural engineering with reused and locally sourced materials. Its wooden framework, reclaimed from old mooring piles, rests on dry foundations of natural stone and cement blocks. The floor and cladding incorporate elements from deconstructed farms, nightclubs, and even repurposed barrels. Built using dry assembly methods, the structure is adaptable, reversible, and rooted in both sustainable construction practices and its historic garden setting.
