In 2014, Unge Kunstneres Samfund (UKS), Fotogalleriet (FG), Forbundet Frie Fotografer (FFF), and Galleri 0047 conducted a feasibility study to analyse the potential of a possible co-location in Oslo. The main objective was an open, flexible and accessible cultural arena that would strengthen the cultural diversity in the centre of Oslo. The idea of the facility was to give the public a new way to experience art.
The windows into the studio provide an insight into the art production and create an art gallery, equating the workshop and the exhibition space. The main focus is on sustainable constructions in wood and a concrete slab, as a foundation to avoid costly piling with high CO2 emissions.
