The topping-out ceremony has taken place for Moringa, a residential high-rise currently under construction in Hamburg’s HafenCity. Originally designed by kadawittfeldarchitektur and taken over from the execution phase by Schraub und Partner Architekten, the project marks a milestone as Germany’s first residential tower built entirely according to the Cradle-to-Cradle principle. Together with WTM Engineers, we are responsible for the structural engineering of this circular building.
The building offers 24,000 m² gross floor area, including around 220 rental units. Over one-third of which are publicly subsidised, along with co-living and co-working spaces, childcare facilities, and dining options. The structure helps develop the socially and ecologically focused Baakenhafen quarter, where circular construction, green roofs and façades, and energy-efficient systems set new standards for urban living.
Completion is planned for 2026.
